Help stop the secret suffering of pedigree dogs

Dear Supporter,

A report out this week suggests that some of the UK’s native breeds, like the red setter, are being pushed towards extinction because of the rise in popularity of more exotic breeds like the chihuahua.

Celebrity culture which has created the ‘handbag dog’ craze is the most likely cause for the spike in popularity of this miniature canine, but at what cost to the dog’s health?

Small dogs, like the chihuahua can be prone to breathing problems and broken bones because of their tiny physique - and all because they’ve been bred to look a certain way.

Find out more about celebrities and their dogs in our special 'Exaggerated Features' flickbook.

Thanks for your support!

Yours sincerely,
