VICTORY: MPs support a ban on wild animals in the circus

Dear supporter

Thank you!

We are delighted that after over a decade of campaigning, MPs have listened to the public and unanimously backed a motion in the House of Commons to ban wild animals from travelling circuses in the UK.

Thank you to all of you who wrote to your MPs and encouraged them to attend the debate and vote in support of a ban. This outcome shows your actions really do make a difference.

Whilst this is great news, we’re still a way off securing a ban on wild animals in circuses. We’re now calling on the government to accept the will of Parliament and the public, and swiftly bring forward plans to ban wild animals from circuses in England.

If your MP was one of those who attended or spoke at the debate, please take the time to thank them for their commitment to the welfare of wild animals in circuses. A full list of those MPs who spoke in support of the ban in Thursday’s debate can be found here.

Thank you for your support
