RSPCA - We need you to tell the government to Back off Badgers!
Dear Supporter,

We urgently need your help to convince the government that a badger cull is wrong.

There is only a short amount of time remaining to convince the government that the public is firmly opposed to a badger cull in England.

The deadline to respond Defra’s public consultation is Wednesday, 8 December 2010.

To make responding as easy as possible, we have created a supporter Consultation Guidance document with some guidance about how to respond to the consultation and some of the RSPCA's key concerns about the proposal.

The RSPCA remains firmly opposed to any plans for a widespread cull based on current science, welfare concerns and practicality. We strongly object to the killing of up to 70 per cent of local badger populations, including thousands of healthy animals.

The public support has been amazing. More than 16,000 members of the public have registered their opposition through RSPCA petitions, postcards and by sending letters to their local MP. But we must do more to stop the cull.

We believe that the government should listen to public opinion. In the previous consultation on a badger cull, 95 per cent of respondents were opposed to and managed to stop a cull. Public pressure does work!

If you disagree with the killing of thousands of healthy badgers, please help us say NO to a cull and send your consultation response directly to Defra.

Take Action!
